Feeding the Homeless
Feeding The Homeless
The mission of Feeding the Homeless for Christ is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to empower individuals to help satisfy their needs—whether their need is finding employment, locating decent and affordable housing, achieving freedom from addiction, or obtaining counseling regarding social issues associated with mental health and emotional growth. Feeding The Homeless for Christ is a self-support auxiliary that obtains food and clothing to help homeless people. This auxiliary facilitates thirty-one outings a year and twelve meetings a year. The ministry is dedicated to serving God through the spreading of the Good News of Jesus Christ and helping those who are less fortunate than us. Members learn how to apply what they have learned in a classroom setting to their outreach effort on the street; they receive an in-depth knowledge of personal evangelism. The ministry also provides toys for more than 500 homeless children during December, and we serve more than 6,000 homeless people at two of our biggest outings in July and August.
The ministry meets every second or third Sunday of the month in the Faminly Center, from 1:30 to 3:45 p.m.
