For Singles Only:
For Singles Only: Saving Ourselves for God?s Best
Let?s cut to the chase: Scripture admonishes single believers to avoid sex before marriage (1 Corinthians 6:18). We?re even told that ?fornicators? will not inherit God?s Kingdom; we will not experience the freedom, joy, and peace that come with walking with God when we don?t obey God?s Word. Yet even knowing that doesn?t make it easy for single believers to avoid it. In an October 2011 blog post, Grace for Grace reported that 80 percent of single Christians admitted to having pre-marital sex. Eighty percent. However, the fact that such a large number of believers struggle to obey the Scriptures regarding sex before marriage doesn?t negate God?s Word; God has not changed His mind about when He wants us to experience one of His gifts to us. And contrary to how we may sometimes feel, God?s decree on the matter is for our benefit. To be sure, stop and take some time to read The Message paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 6:16-20.
If you want to learn more about the impact pre-marital sex can have on your life and your relationships, as well as take away some applicable lessons for guarding your body and your heart during your season of singleness, join Living the Single Life Ministry Saturday, July 28, for real talk on the subject. We will be joined by nationally known speaker Lakita Garth Wright, who will lead a seminar on the physical and spiritual benefits of celibacy in the lives of single believers. The session begins at 9 a.m. with a full breakfast in room 300. The cost is only $15. Click here to register.
